Petal Party Extravaganza

This past week has made me dizzy! All three of my children had a birthday to celebrate! My oldest wanted to have her friends over for a flower arranging party, and if I do say so myself, it went amazingly well!

I had all the little flower pots greened up and ready to go!

Next it was out to the front porch for some floral design instruction and flower identification. I could not believe how attentive each girl was, and how focused they remained throughout the activity.

Here I am passionately describing how to separate daisies, looking goofy too!

Future floral design geniuses in the making!

No party would be complete without something sweet to take home! I had to sneak some more peonies in there somehow!

I Heart Peonies

I love Peonies! They are fragrant, easy to showcase, and I wish I could eat them! This locally grown variety is called Minuette. Some might call it white, but I prefer to think of them as blush , with magenta centers. The local variety is going, going, gone, boo hoo.  But have heart, if you really must have them, they can be imported from New Zealand throughout most of the year - at a hefty price. I have them grouped with other sweet smelling fleurs; yellow freesia, sweet heart roses, and delicate white sweet peas. Just relax and inhale, ahh....

Happy Little Bluebird

This is some out of control ranunculus from my mother’s garden, I am in love! The little bluebird was given to me last year by a dear friend when I lost a very special person in my life. Every time I glance up at this little guy, I am filled with hope and can't help but smile!
