Oh How I Wish It would Rain..

Yes, I am singing the Phil Collin's song at the tippy top of my lungs!!!! It is so hot outside, I can barely stand it. Most of my garden is in a sad state. A while back I had so much hope for my new plants. All I can do is say some gibberish and do a rain dance, and... understand that I can not control the weather. Now I am stamping my feet like my little ones do when they are about to go over the edge..... ahhh!!!!!

Some of it it is hanging on.  My prize hydrangeas are pathetic, so I won't even share pictures of them yet.

Me standing in a puddle, eons ago.

This weekend I will be spending time at our town pool -still in shock that I do not have to be in the baby section- , going on site visits, running 12 miles, and breaking bread with wonderful friends. Lastly I will be weeding, and devising ways to rid my yard of  chipmunk craziness. They are starting to breed with the squirrels along the Mohawk River or... the heat is starting to turn my brain to mush.

Jamie & Shaun - Glen Sanders Mansion Wedding

I have been meaning to write about Jamie and Shaun's classic and elegant wedding held at The Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia New York for some time now! They are a beautiful couple who traveled up here from NYC to celebrate with their friends and family (most of which flew in from California!).

White Peony Bride Bouquet Glen Sanders Wedding Flowers

Jamie wanted her flowers to be soft and romantic. Her bouquet was filled with fluffy white peonies, hydrangea, Juliet roses, Sahara roses, hypericum berry and dusty miller. I am in love with this popular and timeless color pallette!

The mothers chose to carry delicate hand held posies. I can not stress enough how much I love this option over corsages - pin on or wrist. My own mother chose this style for all three of her children's wedding - I think because it gave her something to do with her oher arm as she was escorted down the aisle : ) .

The bridesmaids carried simple and pretty hand tied boquets of white hydrangea, porcelina spray roses, and dusty miller. The pewter ribbon looked lovely next to their blush gowns.

Boutonnières for the guys! I hardly ever do large roses (1992 prom flasback), but spray or sweet heart roses with textural accents look great! I always make sure to wrap the stems, it is an imporatant accessory and exposed floral wire just doesn't cut it for me.

Ceremony at Glen Sanders Wedding Flowers

The ceremony took place in the garden. Often I see ceremonies facing the Mohawk River, but the low
water levels made the view unappealing. The fountains, stonework, and the exterior of the Glen Sanders made you feel as though you were transported to a villa in Europe. They had the string quartet set up in the iron gazebo, I highly suggest this set up!

Large urns on pedastals were filled with hydrangea, peonies, and roses. These were later repurposed in the ballroom.

Reception Table Centerpiece at Glen Sanders Wedding Flowers

The reception tables were graced with two different styles of centerpieces .
